Training Group Analyst

Currently,York Groupwork has two long term block therapy groups, conducted by Ewa Wojciechowska and Chris Holman. We now anticipate starting a third group in the Autumn. Therefore, we invite applications for the post of Training Group Analyst to conduct this new group.

We are seeking applications from full IGA members who can demonstrate substantial experience of providing group analytic psychotherapy and who hold Training Group Analyst status with the IGA or are prepared to apply for this within one year of appointment.

The fee per three-session day is £315, plus travel expenses.

Closing date for applications : Friday 11 September 2020

Interviews will be held online in the week beginning 14 September.

Work Reflection Group Supervisor

York Groupwork has offered the IGA Diploma in Groupwork Practice since its inception in 2012. We are now anticipating (subject to final student numbers) that we will need a second Work Reflection Group (WRG) supervisor for the 2020-21 course. The person appointed will conduct two x 90 minute WRG sessions in the afternoons of thirteen course days. All course team members also attend the median group sessions.

We are seeking applications from full IGA members who have also completed the IGA’s Diploma in Supervision and have demonstrable supervision experience. Fees for the 2020-21 academic year will be £174 per course afternoon (£206 for those including a median group session).

Closing date for applications : Friday 28 August 2020

Interviews will be held online in the first week in September.

For both roles:

Venue: St Bedes Pastoral Centre, a short walk from York Railway Station. Since the recent restrictions, the therapy groups and the trainings have been meeting via the ‘Zoom.us‘ portal and we expect this to continue for part of the 2020-21 year.

The successful applicants will be required to conduct group sessions online initially and need to have appropriate equipment and skills to do so.

For both roles, we particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under-represented within IGA trainings.

Task Descriptions and Person Specifications for both roles are available below or from info@yorkgroupwork.com.
