Group Psychotherapists

Sara Perren

Sara Perren is a Group Analyst and Psychotherapist in private practice in York. She works therapeutically with groups and individuals and offers clinical supervision, teaching and training. She is Co-Director of the IGA’s Diploma in Group Supervision. She has worked in Primary Care and the Charitable Sector. As well as being a Group Analyst, she is trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). She has published research on why people DNA (do not attend), on the long-term impact of counselling and on the effectiveness of counselling and acupuncture for depression. Sara is conductor of one of the York Groupwork ‘block’ therapy groups, which take place on 16 Saturdays and one Friday throughout the year offering three group therapy sessions on each Saturday. They are suitable for all, but this makes them particularly accessible to those with busy working weeks or who live further away and cannot attend a once-weekly group.

Chris MacGregor

Chris is a Training Group Analyst and a retired Consultant Psychiatrist & Medical Psychotherapist, who was clinical lead for Mental Health Services in NHS Highland, where she conducted many groups in a variety of modalities before her retirement from the NHS. She supervises therapists in a variety of settings, including the Qualifying Course in Group Analysis in Manchester, and has presented several papers at national and international group psychotherapy conferences.

Debbie Warburton

Debbie is an Adult Psychotherapist and Group Analyst with Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, where she conducts analytic groups but also has developed a model of adapted, fixed term groups, as well as offering supervision and consultation to other clinicians and teams. She was a longstanding staff member of the North East Foundation Course in Group Analysis where she had a number of roles including convenor and experiential group conductor.

Sally King

Sally is a Group Analyst, an Accredited Supervisor at the Institute of Group Analysis, a UKCP Regd. and BACP (Senior Accred.) Psychotherapist. She has retired from the NHS but has been in private practice as a therapist for over twenty five years. She also offers both group and individual supervision and has co-convened group therapy training to Diploma level in York.

Christopher Davies

Christopher is a Group Analyst and BACP (Senior Accred.) Psychotherapist, now retired from the NHS, with a private practice as a psychotherapist.  He also offers group and individual supervision and has co-convened group therapy training to Diploma level in York.
